Capabilities
: Summary
Amtech
is one of the largest composite and vacuum forming companies on the West
Coast. We offer full service customer support systems to manage even the
most challenging developmental programs. The Commercial Product Division
not only supports a growing base of major OEM customers, but also meets
the demands our own proprietary products.

Custom
Fiberglass
We manufacture fiberglass parts for customers throughout the
Western United States.
Our 40 foot lay up booths can handle your largest part application.
Electronic monitoring and strain gauge weight scales are used
in our process to monitor uniform fiberglass consistency to
the specified wall section and final part weight. We pride ourselves
on our ability to manufacture very difficult or challenging
components including designs with undercuts using detachable
tooling. Our methods for surface treatment of gloss and uniformity
meet and exceed the highest levels in the industry.
We use Lean Manufacturing concepts in our production planning.
Our manufacturing facilities feature state of the art air handling
systems designed especially for composite manufacturing. We
have recently expanded our composite grinding and routing areas
for high production volume. |

Vacuum Forming
We use state of the art computer controlled multiple sequencing
equipment with rapid sheet transfer capability and automated
clamping systems for process repeatability and precision vacuum
forming. We have the some of the largest forming machines on
the West Coast, and can form up to 15.5 X 8.5 sheet material.
We commonly make large machine covers, spas, tubs, and architectural
components. Shipping these parts can be quite reasonable since
they are easily nested. This allows vacuum forming to compete
effectively with SMC and sheet metal.
Vacuum forming allows the use of relatively low-cost tooling
made of aluminum, fiberglass, or even wood. We offer a multitude
of secondary operations such as hand or machine edge routing,
drilling and taping, and surface treatments including painting.

VARTM
- Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding
We use state of the art computer control systems in our
Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding systems to obtain very
high levels of product consistency. The material is drawn into
a sealed bag system by vacuum, producing virtually void free
components. |

Resin
Transfer Molding
RTM is a control process using pressure to pump resin
through the glass fiber matrix into a closed mold. This process
produces cosmetic surfaces inside and out the part. With the
RTM process uniform wall sections and high glass content percentage
resin are obtained for improved structural strength. |

Reinforced
Vacuum Forming (RVF)
Amtech manufactures Reinforced Vacuum Formed (RVF) products
using our proprietary process which produces very rigid and
durable cosmetic structures. The benefit of the process is the
surface enhancements thermoplastics materials provide. We can
offer a full range of cosmetics colors, textures, and surface
glosses, including excellent DOT flame and toxicity performance.
We also can tailor the fiberglass, wood and custom metal reinforcements
in key strength locations.

Value
Added Assembly
Our Value Added Assembly program sets Amtech Corporation
apart from our competitors.
By housing Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics (FRP) and vacuum forming
processes at the same facility, we are able to offer customers
the best possible options in strength, weight, and cost. We
can easily install customer supplied parts and accessories or
we can source them on behalf of our customers. Excess inventory
is avoided thereby saving warehouse space and stretching a manufacturing
budget.
A reduction in product handling also allows for budget savings,
as does an increase in production capacity without a corresponding
increase in staffing levels. Our experience in Value Added Assembly
means our customers receive a more complete product that in
turn increases their manufacturing line speed.
