Does having an ozonator in
my spa mean I no longer have to use chemicals?
No, you still need to use chemicals in your spa. However, an ozonator
will cut down your chemical use by approximately 70%.
What kind of surfaces can
I set my spa on?
To help prevent your spa from cracking & shifting, we highly
recommend installing your spa on a 4" thick concrete slab.
However, a well supported deck would suffice. NEVER set your spa
on an uneven surface, the spa must be entirely supported by an even
& uniform surface.
What are the electrical requirements
for a spa?
For a 230 volt installation, you are required to have it on a
dedicated 50 amp breaker with a GFCI.
For a 115 volt installation, a 20 amp dedicated
circuit with a GFCI is required.
Will my spa freeze in the
extremely cold temperatures?
Our spas have a built-in freeze protector which would activate the
pumps if the temperature falls to 40 degrees in the equipment area.
However, if the power goes out for several days, any spa could freeze
depending on exterior temperatures.
How often should I drain my
spa?
This depends on how often you use our spa. Generally, it is recommended
that you drain and refill your spa with fresh water at least every
3 months or sooner if needed.
Should I use bromine or chlorine
in my spa?
Chemical usage is a customer’s choice. There are a lot of
chemicals on the market, some better than others. Check with your
nearest dealer for help in choosing the right ones to suit your
needs.
How do I maintain the cedar
skirt?
Apply an exterior stain once a year as you would a deck.
How long does it take to heat
up my spa?
If you are using 230 volts, on the average, it would heat up in
approximately 8 hours or less. If you are using 115 volts service
it would take approximately 24 hours.
How do I maintain the filters
and how often should they be replaced?
You should rinse your filters at least once a week and soak them
in a filter solution at least once a month. If this is done, they
can last for quite a while. It’s always a good idea to have
a second set available, so that your spa is never without filters.
Is it safe to store my spa
on its side?
We do NOT recommend storing your spa on its side because of the
possibility of warping the spa skirt and the shell. The equipment
& plumbing could also be loosened by storing it on it’s
side.
What can I do to maintain
the heat in my spa?
In addition to a well insulated cover, use a barrier or bubble blanket
which can be purchased through your dealer or local pool stores.
Keep the spa covered when not in use.
Where is the equipment located?
On all of our spa models the equipment is located behind the panel
with the Sonoma Plaque on it. Also, the equipment can be located
behind the panel below the spa side control that is mounted on the
top rim of your spa (except on the model K-600 Trio)
What information comes with
my spa?
You spa should contain the following information: an owner’s
manual, a warranty card, a user’s guide to program the spa,
a service manual for your service personnel, and our UL warning
label.
How do I program my spa?
Simply follow the directions on the Quick Reference Chart or you
may call your dealer for any advice. Once your spa is programmed,
it will take care of itself as far as filtering and heating.
